Dear Blues Supporters, Folklorists, and Culture Keepers

Jack Dappa Blues Heritage Preservation Foundation is launching WBPR – Blues People Radio, a 24/7 online broadcast station rooted in African American traditional music, oral history, and cultural storytelling. From the Mississippi Delta to the Midwest and beyond, we are keeping the legacy alive through licensed music, live interviews, and community-centered programming.

To launch and operate this station ethically and legally, we need your support to cover essential annual music licensing fees.

Your donation helps us:

  • Pay artists, labels, and songwriters through required licenses
  • Preserve and stream Blues, Spirituals, and folk music with full integrity
  • Offer cultural education, folklife storytelling, and youth media training
  • Amplify new voices and tradition bearers through our live Sunday shows

Annual Licensing & Hosting Cost: $2,200–$2,500

Every contribution—large or small—directly supports the preservation of Black folk traditions, the sustainability of WBPR, and the rightful compensation of Black musical artists and ancestors.

Help us keep the Blues on the air, 24/7.
