The Jack Dappa Blues Heritage Preservation Foundation Granted 501(c)(3) Nonprofit Status New York, New York – The Jack Dappa Blues Heritage Preservation Foundation is officially a private foundation with tax-exempt status under Section 501(c)(3) of the United States Internal Revenue Code. Contributions donated to The Jack Dappa Blues Heritage Preservation Foundation are fully tax-deductible retroactive to the founding of the organization on December 14th, 2016. The Jack Dappa Blues Heritage Preservation Foundation is also now eligible to apply for government and foundation grants, which will further broaden it’s access to resources and strengthen it’s ability to serve our community by preserving our culture/ethic heritage through the producing of mutli-media, community events and workshops.
“Obtaining 501(c)(3) status is a major milestone for the Jack Dappa Blues Heritage Preservation Foundation”, remarks Chair and Executive Director Lamont Jack Pearley. “This allows for us to expand fundraising activities and fully execute our mission to preserve our heritage and traditions through our Multi Media platform, workshops and producing projects that raise cultural/ethnic awareness about the traditional music and it’s relation to African American traditions.”
